Coaches impact players very differently. For some, they want to do everything they can to please their coach so they don't get substituted out or get screamed at for every mistake. Other players, respect their coach so much, they always want to please them...

Former North Carolina Tar Heel star Jerry Stackhouse says he misses the personal notes he used to get from his coach.

"He always wanted to let me know that he was watching me and keeping up. I miss that," said Stackhouse. "It was almost like on certain nights you'd get out on the floor and say to yourself, 'Coach Smith might be watching tonight. I have to be at my sharpest.'
